Sometimes we hold onto emotions that can cause us pain and suffering, even to the point of destroying ourselves. When I read this story, I knew that it would touch lives, let it minister to you, if you need it.
"There was a snake that crawled over a sharp saw and was cut. In anger, the snake wrapped the saw with its thick body and proceeded to squeeze the life out of the saw. With each angry squeeze, it felt more pain but, continued because it wasn’t going to let the saw get away with the pain it caused it. The snake, refusing to let go of the saw, eventually died; not knowing the whole time, he needed to let go of the initial pain and focus on its future and where it was going. Instead, the snake, unfortunately, lost its life and didn’t even see it coming." A lesson we need to learn is: Control your anger, forgive those that hurt you, and don’t give people or things power over you. It can ultimately kill you. Don't let someone control you because they have hurt you. Release them, by forgiving them and move on in your life. Don't be like the snake and hold on until it destroys you and those around you....Let go and let God take over... Ephesians 4:31~4:32 "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." 24 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
There is only One that can satisfy my soul and His Name is Jesus.
2 Passages of God's Holy Word will carry us through: 1. Psalm 107:9 "For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness." 2. Psalm 103:5 "Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." REMEMBER THIS: When everything is going wrong...He lifts me up When Satan has thrown everything at me...He gives me hope When my heart has been broken...He mends the wounds When no one understands what I am going through...Jesus does When there is no peace...He gives me His peace When those you love turns their backs on you...Jesus is right there to assure me I belong to Him When people tell lies on you...God gives you a forgiving heart When you have done all you can do and no one cares...God cares https://youtu.be/9lsggSWqd1g 23 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
The Word of God is filled with "Living Water". As we read and study His Word, we will find peace, comfort, and assurance that God is true to His Word.
1. John 4:14 "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." 2. John 7:38 "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." 3. Revelation 21:6 "And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." 4. Isaiah 44:3 "For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring." The "Living Water" that God has to offer, is for anyone who desires to be filled to overflowing... 22 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
Psalm 135:1~3
"Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord. Ye that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant." I have a melody in my heart that cannot be stiffled. When I think of the LORD I want to Praise Him. I love to hum melodies of the Master's All Encompassing Love, His Mercy, His Grace, His Compassion, and most of all His Loving Forgiveness that can and will wipe away all my sins. I have a reason to have a melody in my heart, for Jesus lives within my heart...FOREVER!!! https://youtu.be/WIOxfBEDDOg 21 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
Annie Sherwood Hawks was born in Hoosick, New York on May 28, 1835. She was gifted in writing poems and at the young age of 14, her first poem was published in the local newspaper. At the age of 24, in 1857, she married Charles H. Hawk, living in Brooklyn, New York. They had 3 children.
They attended Hanson Place Baptist Church, where Robert Lowry was the Pastor, he was a hymn writer and encouraged Annie to write also, with the promise of writing the music for her work. Charles Hawks died in 1888, she moved to Bennington Vermont to live with her daughter and son-in-law, W. E. Putnam Annie wrote over 400 hymns in her lifetime. One of her most remembered hymns is "I Need Thee Every Hour", written in 1872, which is still very popular today. Annie said of this powerful song: "For myself, the hymn was prophetic rather than expressive of my own experiences, for it was wafted out to the world on the wings of love and joy, instead of under the stress of personal sorrow." What a powerful song that is so true, we all need Jesus every hour of every day. On January 3, 1918, Annie died at the age of 82, in Bennington, but was buried in Hoosick Rural Cememtary, in New York. https://youtu.be/-9iKDja5ALA 20 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
As a young mother raising a son by myself, I had to learn to trust God for direction in my life. In that time frame in my life, I walked away from the protecting arms of the LORD. For 9 years I wandered, trying to find my way on my own. I felt I knew better than the LORD did, but I finally came to the end of myself and returned to Him in 1987. I have never turned back, I have never wanted to look back at what I gave up, because without the LORD there is nothing.
Today, there are people that God has forsaken them, but in reality they have forsaken God. Why is it when we do not get what we want from the LORD, that we become angry and blame Him for what has happened in our lives? I did that myself when I felt there was nowhere to turn, so I walked away instead of waiting of His Plans for my life. Sadly, I wanted it my way, I didn't want to wait, I thought I could get what I wanted quicker, but all I did was cause confusion, leading to going down paths that were not meant for me to follow. Yet, what I didn't realize, God knew right where I was and when I got to the end of myself, then I turned to Him. I was so grateful that He welcomed me with open arms. How wonderful it is to have the assurance that God is with me and His Promises are all true. I knew that I was now "sheltered" in His Arms. In Deuteronomy 31:8, He promised to go before me and He surely has: "And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." He has never failed me or turned His back on me... https://youtu.be/Al5DFVMB9xk 19 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
There are many wounded men and women that have been hurt by others. They suffer and never been restored after heartbreak or brokenness. So many wounds are so deep, that it seems impossible for them to heal. This causes many to not be able to have relationships with others, as they do not want to be hurt again.
I know I am not alone, I have felt the deep wounds of those that have pricked me to my heart. It has caused me to cautiously build lasting relationships. No relationship is perfect and building trust is so important if you want to have others in your life. I know many friends that have just said, "No more, it is not worth it", but I have learnt a friend is a valuable asset. Two powerful passages concerning friends, tells just how valuable they can be: 1. Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." 2. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour." I truly believe a "true" friend is a gift from God and if you have such a friend, treasure that godly relationship. 18 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
I truly believe God warns people before judgment comes upon them or those around them. Many just close their eyes and ears to what God has to say.
If you remember when Jesus was born, Herod heard of the Saviour's birth from the Wise Men, that were seeking the Messiah. He told the Wise Men if they found the Babe, to let him know. In fact, Herod was so concerned about this birth, he told his men to kill the Messiah, so he had all the children under 2 murdered, thinking it would protect him, but if you also remember, the Wise Men went home another route {Matthew 2:12, "And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way."} God also warned Joseph and Mary of the evil intent of King Herod. God warned them to protect them. He does the same to us, but many times we ignore His warnings and walk right into the Devil's Trap, thinking once we get there, God will get us out of trouble, but sometimes, we have to walk through it, because we chose not to Heed the Warnings From God. God warns us to deliver us from the Evil Hand of Satan, He desires to thwart the Devil over our lives. If you are not sure about something, just don't do it until you get a release from the Holy Spirit, trusting God to warn you, is so very important... 17 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
Through the eyes of children, they see things so much different. This story shows how they see things that we, as adults do not..Isaiah 11:6, " and a little child will lead them.”
One day, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Oh yeah," said the son. "So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden, and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden, and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard, and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on, and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us; they have friends to protect them." The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are." 16 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
Anna the prophetess was an elderly widow. Her time was spent praying and interceding, day and night. We know in the Book of James the Word tells us, James 5:16
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." When Anna saw Jesus as a babe, she recognized Him as the Messiah and Saviour. She shared with all she encountered, by witnessing of His great love. As an elderly woman, Anna was still doing all she could for the Kingdom of God. She wanted others to know of the Saviour. Think about this, any man or woman that spends time in prayer will understand the value, the authority, and the blessings that will come to them. Lack of understanding can cause us to miss what God has for us. We see that Anna missed nothing, she saw what she needed to see through the eyes of the LORD. 15 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
When I go into spiritual battle with Satan, I use scripture to fight my battle. My words mean nothing, but God's Word has all power to fight against the Enemy.
God's Words make a difference in spiritual warfare: 1. Hebrews 4:12 “The word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” 2. Ephesians 6:17 "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." 3. John 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." The Word of God is the key to bringing the Enemy to his knees. Nicki Cruz, the young gang member that Rev. David Wilkerson met and was converted to the LORD, made this powerful statement: "Through the study of Scripture, God will impart within us all the wisdom and strength we need to achieve his will for us. So read Scripture. Meditate on it. And memorize it, especially verses about God’s power and his victory over the devil." We can defeat Satan with the Powerful Word of God... https://youtu.be/UI4CvsPDcxg 14 January 2021Posted by Debbie in

I have heard people say, "I want to know what the Will of God is for my life." And I have also heard many say after they have found out what they believe God has for them, "That is not what I want to do, God must have gotten it wrong." They look to others to speak into their lives, instead of seeking the LORD for Divine Direction.
We are always going to find those that want God's Will, but they want it their way. I must tell you there is no peace or serenity in your life, if it isn't what God has for you. My mother and I were talking the other day, how sad it is that so many say they are Christians, yet they are so unhappy. Many times, they do not know God's Word because they never read or study, as His Word tells us to: "2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." How are you going to know what He wants, if you don't spend time with Him and find out what is truly in your heart? God has a plan for each of us, but it is up to us to follow Him and not go our own way. If you truly desire to know what His Will is, take time to get alone with Him and seek Him with all your heart...He is waiting and He will show you His Plan... The Apostle Paul said it very eloquently, Paul said, “Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” {Ephesians 5:15~17} 12 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
Micah 5:2
"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." We just closed out the Christmas Season, for us, it was a beautiful time of celebrating Christ, along with spending time with our family. We are so blessed to have a Saviour that loved us so much that He gave His life for us. It all happened on that day that He was born in a stable. This little babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, there was no place for for Mary in the Inn, so she took the stable. It didn't matter where Jesus was born, for on this day, a King was to be born, the One that would take our sins and His life would be the payment, that would mean our debt was paid in full. The awesome day in Bethlehem, that Jesus was born, changed our lives forever. I will forever be grateful to the King of Kings and LORD of LORD'S, that gave ALL for me...We should remember His great sacrifice for us!! https://youtu.be/UE13vpocP8M 11 January 2021Posted by Debbie in
Psalm 135:1~3
"Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord. Ye that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant." Jesus is always on my mind and in my heart. I can sing a melody of love to Him. For He is a part of my daily life. I can find myself, in the midst of cleaning the house or cooking, singing a song or humming a tune that brings peace and joy in my heart. Take each day and Praise the LORD with a special melody in your heart, for surely it will bring comfort in the midst of the storm. https://youtu.be/8q-IQ3DEVSI
